Identity minimization
Join ordinary Channels without a phone number, email address, real-name account, or global M2 profile.
M2 / Secure compartmented communication

Four coordinated controls
M2 combines controls at the identity, content, network, and retention layers. Each Channel is an independent communication compartment rather than part of a global social profile.
Join ordinary Channels without a phone number, email address, real-name account, or global M2 profile.
Messages and files are encrypted on the device for the intended recipients.
Embedded Tor connects messaging traffic to an M2 v3 Onion Service without a direct clearnet connection to the messaging Gateway.
Authenticated durable receipt starts ciphertext deletion; undelivered encrypted payloads expire within 48 hours.
Built around the Channel
A Channel has its own membership, lifetime, and local history. Create one for a defined task, share invitation material deliberately, and close or expire it when the work ends.
Operational settings
M2 is most useful when a team needs a separate communications path with less identity coupling and a deliberately limited lifetime.
Establish an out-of-band Channel when ordinary organizational systems may be unavailable or in question.
Keep a temporary operational team separate from personal accounts and contact lists.
Coordinate approved security work inside a dedicated, time-bounded compartment.
Give temporary cross-organization groups a focused communication context.

Use with intent
Keep devices protected, separate operational and personal identities where practical, and use a system of record when retained evidence or regulated recordkeeping is required. Read operational guidance.
